Hey mom! and family!!
My week was good thanks! Yeah church went great this week! It was
stake conference. We got up in the morning, we were gonna bring some
people, but when we got there, they'd already gone to it! So we went
with zone leaders. The people were B, and his wife, T,
and his son T. Which I think I've already talked about a little
bit. B is funny, he's very strong willed. He's got a strong
testimony as well, even having not been baptized yet, though he took
lessons with the missionaries before. Like how he's been to church the
past two times, even amidst not having church clothes, and having back
problems recently. That's another thing this week. He was having back
problems, he wasn't sure what it was, but he said he was gonna have it
checked out at the doctors on wednesday. Had it been something he'd
have had to stay there for it would have postponed his baptism, so we
all prayed for him. He had some pretty cool experiences going to the
hospital, he was experiencing some pretty bad back pain on the bus but
he just prayed hard. In the end, he was back on thursday! It was cool
that he was able to pray because before that he was trying to use
kiribati black magic to take away the pain. We explained to him that
it wouldn't actually help him, because the devil doesn't do good
things for us, and that he shouldn't use black magic, cause it
wouldn't be real, true health that he'd be receiving. Rather he needed
to just use prayer and ask God, and find real help at the hospital.
Any way, he didn't really have to much of a problem stopping using it,
he kind of knew it was bad as he told us. His son was gonna come to
the conference with us because he was to shy to go with his parents.
But he came with his parents after all. When we got there he wasn't
even siting with his parents he was sitting with some friends he
probably knew from school. So it all worked out. Ea and his wife
didn't come, their motorcycle broke or something. So it wasn't really
their fault. But we had a really great lesson afterward. Great lesson.
It was awesome. We just talked about them keeping their commitments.
Their doing really great with most of their commitments, which is
awesome. And then we just encouraged them to keep working at getting
consistent reading and church. I was thinking to myself "we've met a
lot of really great people, like b who's way strong willed
and just honest, or our other investigators who have been doing good
with their commitments. If I were an investigator what kind of
investigator would I be?" For real a lot of our investigators are
examples to me, it just made me think, when I am given a commitment
from mission president or general conference, how diligent am i at
doing it? Any way, good food for thought, and spirit.
